I walk 47 miles of barbed wire,
I use a cobra-snake for a necktie,
I got a brand new house on the roadside,
Made from rattlesnake hide,
I got a brand new chimney made on top,
Made out of a human skull . . .
Tell me the man wasn't a poet. RIP Bo Diddley

Also RIP Yves Saint Laurent.
It was indeed a rough weekend for the arts.

Speaking of rough . . . the kiddo had his 2 month immunizations. Poor thing howled from 5:00PM to 11:00PM. I feel terrible. :-(

I rejoined Netflix. I've come to realize that there ain't no way I'm going to be able to watch movies the way I USED TO watch movies. So far I've watched dreck--Beowulf and The Transformers. Look, my argument to watch crappy blockbusters is that it's research. Besides, I spend 9 months out of the year trying to be an intellectual . . . once in awhile I like watching things blow up.
Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what I should put in my queue. Any suggestions? My range is wide.

Lucas' two months imms already! My how time flies. Hope he's feeling better.
At least he didn't blow up with hives like Samuel did, but miserable babies equals miserable parents.
I highly recommend the first three seasons of "Weeds." I fell in love with that show on the 4-day trip to Antarctica. It's the reason I will probably sign up for Netflix again this summer.
I second committing to a TV show--you're more likely to make it through a one-hour episode without interruption. My vote goes to "The Wire," which had five seasons.
Watch it now, before your impressionable child gets old enough to remember what he's seeing on the screen. = )
Ooooh, shots! This is all sounding familiar. Love the photo of baby and dog.
We joined Netflix, too, for the same reason. Top of my queue is "Gone Baby Gone," and then the first season of "30 Rock."
I also recommend the first season of "Heroes."
I second the recommendation for Season 1 of Heroes. Think you'd really like it!
You know what movie I really enjoyed (though initially I didn't think it would be my kind of movie?) Charlie Wilson's War.
If you're into quirky humor that involves cursing robots and heads-in-jars, season 1 and 2 of Futurama.
Any Hayao Miyazaki is good, though my favorite is "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind."
