The Worst Diet Ever.

I am now on the Worst Diet Ever.

The good news is I've shed some pounds on this diet. The bad news is I'll probably be on the diet for a few more weeks.

No chocolate. No dairy. No baked goods. No seafood.

Just oatmeal oatmeal oatmeal and oatmeal.

I finished my WWU Magnum Opus: my semi-annual tenure review dossier. This go around felt very weighty. I filled a large 3-ring binder. When I taught at Utica College, I don't remember filling such a big binder.

Tree guys came by to give an estimate on the damage. It's not looking good for our checkbooks. I may just have to clean up the mess myself.

I haven't been writing much poetry these days, which is okay. I've been thinking a lot about form. Seems my students are enjoying the challenge. We'll see how long THAT lasts . . . MUWAHAHA!

Hi Oliver,

I bet you don't remember me--formerly Bellingham Bed & Biscuit (sold it) and now working at a small non-profit school here in B'ham. I stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say hello, to you and to Mr. Jake (whom I miss). It sounds as thought you are well (mostly) though I am sorry to hear that you've had some health problems. I hope you and Jake and your wife are doing wonderfully, and wish that you hadn't had the health thing. I love your poetry (I write too--those dreaded words :)--YA novels, a sestina or two and shorts). Just wanted to wish you well--and had to create an account to do so!

Didn't I see you at the Young Jeezy concert in Atlanta? Weren't you the one throwing his arms up in the air like he just didn't care?

Hey Teri!

I didn't know you had sold the BB & B. Jake LOVED that place. And Mr. Jake's a happy puppy these days. We've got a few acres for him to nose and dig and bark. We've also got a total of nine other dogs in the vicinity, all of whom are off lead wandering from property to property, so he's got company. And as for the health thingy, it's fine. I'm, for the most part, "cured." Hope you're doing well!

Funny you should mention Young Jeezy. There's a review of his new album in the Rolling Stone annual review and they gave it three and a half stars, which is somewhat impressive. I turned to Adrian at one point during that concert and told him I had no idea what the young man was talking about.
