Oh my iPod . . .

Currently updating the songs in my library . . .

I've got 6714 items listed in iTunes and I'm all over the map. I've got some Portishead, some Vic Chestnut, some Lyle Lovett, some Yo Yo Ma . . . some Dirty Three, some OMD, some PJ Harvey, some My Morning Jacket, some Seu Jorge . . .

And the thing is, I really only listen to my iPod when I'm working out or on long road trips. I do, however, listen to iTunes quite frequently, so I suppose my big library makes sense.

I've been playing a lot of Alt-Country lately. I think it has something to do with summer.

I'm drifting aimlessly - - the way bad monks think.

Oh. Bless PJ Harvey. That woman rocks. And you took me back with OMD, Oliver. Whoa.

I have an iPOD shuffle with the same 100 songs on it that I had a half year ago...too lazy to update, but I need to sorely.

I've got one of those 40 GB iPods . . . it doesn't play video, but it does have the color screen. I got the big size 'cause I use it to store my poetry manuscripts, school work, etc..

Anyway, OMD rocks, as does PJ. Got any Echo and the Bunnymen?

For some reason I never got into them. I discovered The Smiths late but used to love Meat Is Murder. Those were some good bands. Oh, and The Talking Heads. I loved them.

Oh yes, the Smiths . . . They're on the iPod, as is Viva Hate by Morrissey.

Love, love the Talking Heads. I saw David Byrne do a stint on Sessions at West 54th on PBS. He was doing a rendition of "Psycho Killer" and came out on stage in a skin-tight body suit that had all the internal organs/veins/arteries mapped out. Damn, what a thing to see.

The band, Low, is currently playing on the iPod, by the way. The song is "Dinosaur Act."
