So here's your chance to play a game. Pick which of these versions will be the actual cover of the book.
The covers are designed by Amy Freels with the University of Akron Press.
The painting is by Andie deRoux, and is entitled "Light II."

Gotta be number 4. They're all well done, but I'm sticking with 4.
GOT to be #4. #1 and #2 look too "templated" I guess for poetry book covers, and #3--the all white font--somehow doesn't feel right. #4 makes sense, from a purely visual standpoint and not knowing the architecture of your manuscript, as it has a different font for what would be the "path" through the forest from what would be in the "air above the path" I guess.
Got to be #4! LOVE IT.
WOW--these ALL look incedibly beautiful! I would actually vote for #2 because I love how the shape among the trees looks like such a force, and I love the textured look of the paper around it. But every single cover is astonishing--how lucky to work with such a talented designer and committed press! Nancy P.
Andie, the pleasure was all mine! It's a gorgeous piece and I'm honored that you would allow me to use it.
